Are you a passionate, qualified social worker with experience of working with children and families in a statutory setting? Are you interested in different ways of working in this field? Would you like to be involved in developing this growing service? We are looking for enthusiastic and motivated social workers to join this still expanding team. The Permanence Support Team is a specialist team providing post-order support to adopters, special guardians and their children, adults affected by adoption, and to birth families.
You will be joining a supportive team of aspirational, creative, skilled and committed social workers. The team works on 'the front line' undertaking short-term crisis work and working with placements at risk of disruption. They also undertake longer-term work with a strong preventative and therapeutic focus; so strong assessment and support planning skills are required. As projects develop, there will be more opportunities for group work; training; direct work with children and families and providing therapeutic interventions.
This is an exciting opportunity to be part of developing this Regional Adoption Agency. Adopt Thames Valley (ATV) launched in December 2017. It was formed by Bracknell, West Berkshire, Windsor and Maidenhead, Wokingham, Reading, Swindon and Oxfordshire to provide regional Permanence Support Services. It is hosted by Oxfordshire County Council with offices in Oxfordshire, Woodley (Berkshire) and Swindon. This role is available at the Oxfordshire office. Some travel to the other offices would be expected.
We would strongly encourage interested applicants to contact the Team Mangers for a copy of the full job description and personal specification, and to find out more about the team and the role.
