We have two opportnities for Family Worker.

Over 11's Team - Full Time post for one year
Under 11s Team - Part Time permanent post

The Over 11’s Family Safeguarding Team provides support to young people who may be a Looked After Child, or a child subject to a child protection plan, or a Child In Need. You will be part of an established and experienced team of Social Workers and other Family Workers who undertake statutory work with young people and their families. The Over 11’s team will be working under the new Family Safeguarding Model, which involves creating multi-disciplinary teams with additional specialists, training staff in Motivational Interviewing, as well as a structured approach to risk assessments. Now is an exciting time to join the team and be part of a team taking a lead in this new way of working?   

 Your role will be to assist the social workers by undertaking specific pieces of work including supervising contacts, accompanying young people to appointments, developing budgeting skills or personal safety skills, organising contact rotas and convening meetings. You will also be responsible for a small caseload.

This role is a really important and an integral part of the functioning of the team. You will need experience of working with adolescents, working with multi agency partners, and have excellent organisational skills, together with enthusiasm, energy, a commitment to listening to young people, including the ability to be patient and flexible.
