A fabulous opportunity is awaiting you; the chance to design and shape innovative and creative pedagogical practice in a new all-through academy as our KS3 Maths Lead.
King’s Academy Binfield (KAB) and King’s Academy Oakwood (KAO) are looking to appoint a highly motivated, dynamic and innovative KS3 maths lead with an excellent track record, to play an intrinsic role in our new all-through academy in Bracknell Forest.
KAB opened in a superb building in September 2018 with 120 Year 7 students. In September 2019 a further 150 Year 7 students, along with year R and nursery students joined the academy. Also in September 2019, KAO, a brand new 1 FE primary school a mile away, opened with Year R and a mixed (for this year only) Year 1/2. KAB and KAO will continue to grow year on year to a roll of over 1800 students, aged 3-18. Both academies are run cohesively sharing the same leadership, staff, values, curriculum, opportunities and expectations of excellence.
In partnership with the Director of Maths and Computing, the successful candidate will have responsibility for the strategic leadership of maths in KS3 including the transition curriculum KS2/3 across both academies; ensuring outstanding teaching and curricular opportunities lead to outstanding outcomes.
Applicants should be excellent classroom teachers and have the ability to motivate, inspire and lead staff and students to excel. The successful candidate will show great leadership potential, will be a team player, will get stuck in and involve themselves in the wider aspects of academy life. A genuine commitment to our ‘whatever it takes’ ethos is essential to enable every young person at KAB and KAO to thrive.
As a rapidly growing school, this is a rare and exciting opportunity for a skilful leader who can bring creativity, innovation and dynamism across the academies. Potential is just as important as experience.
