What it's like working here:
This is an exciting time to be joining the service as we are in the process of remodelling our service structure.  EDS is already seen as a safe and effective service, safeguarding the children and vulnerable adults of Berkshire and has received positive feedback from both Ofsted and CQC.  In what other team could you work with so many professionals who are all experts in crisis intervention and specialists within their own field of social work and health?
 
You will be supported to carry out the following duties, responsibilities and training:
• To undertake and fulfil all statutory duties under the Mental Health Act 83 as amended 2007 and the amendments in the Police and Crime Act 2017, ensuring all requirements of the associated legislation including case law are considered and applied.

• To undertake and fulfil all statutory duties under the Care Act 2014, Mental Capacity Act 2005 and Pan Berkshire Adult Safeguarding Procedures and such other legislations that may be appropriate to work with vulnerable adults.

• You will also be required to have a good understanding and working knowledge of  Children legislation with associated sound care management skills.

• To work innovatively and proactively for an excellent out of hours social care service.

• You will receive the 18 hours legal update training and other training and learning opportunities

What we're looking for:
We are looking for an experienced Approved Mental Health Professional who has excellent risk assessment and analytical skills, who is good at effective multi-agency working, good oral and written communication skills, a team player, with the ability to prioritise and organise work effectively. We want an AMHP with good ICT literacy, who is able to deal with unrestricted demand, make decisions under pressure and who is willingness to challenge professionals and public. The service requires someone with passion for good social work and who is able to support their colleagues.
