The successful candidates will be part of a team of Learning Support Assistants led by our Assistant Principal/SENCo, who will share and learn from one another as the academy grows.

Full time or part time working patterns will be considered and the start date is October 2019.

Our new Learning Support Assistants will work with students on both a 1:1 basis and with small groups, as well as supporting within the classroom. Experience of working with students with Speech and Language difficulties Specific Learning Difficulties and ASD would be an advantage although not essential. They will share the academy's vision and the belief that all young people can achieve, whatever it takes.

Other necessary qualities include confidentiality, efficiency and being able to work on your own initiative and under pressure. There is an expectation of a willingness to contribute to the wider life of King’s Academy Binfield (KAB) and King’s Academy Oakwood (KAO).

KAB opened in a superb new building in September 2018 with 120 students in Year 7. The primary phase, including nursery, at KAB and KAO, will open in September 2019. In addition to this, we will also welcome 150 more year 7s.

As new builds, KAB and KAO enjoy outstanding facilities, both internally and externally. We have appointed outstanding founding staff thus far, and now seek to add this key role to our team. As a new and rapidly growing academy, this is a rare and exciting opportunity.

The post is for 32.5 hours per week, 39 weeks per year (term time only plus 5 days). Hours of work will be 8.30am – 3.30pm Monday to Friday. There is also the possibility of working with our wrap around care provider (Funtastic Kids) supporting with the running of a breakfast club and an after school club.

KAB and KAO are part of the King’s Group Academies MAT led by a team of former and current Ofsted ‘outstanding’ head teachers and Her Majesty’s Inspectors (HMI). Please note link to King’s Group Academies Vision and Mission - https://kingsacademies.uk/aboutus/vision-and-mission/
