We have an exciting opportunity for a Case Worker to join the Disabled Facilities Grant (DFG) Service at Bracknell Forest Council, on a full-time, permanent basis. This varied and rewarding role will support the delivery of both mandatory and discretionary grants, helping disabled and vulnerable residents to live safely and independently at home.

About you...

You will work closely with occupational therapists, surveyors, contractors and housing partners to coordinate housing adaptations, manage grant applications, analyse tenders and ensure works are completed to specification. Using your working knowledge of housing adaptations and relevant legislation, you will maintain accurate records, attend site visits and assist in preparing technical documentation.

The role combines technical awareness, administrative support and excellent customer service, requiring strong organisational skills and attention to detail. It is ideal for someone with experience in housing, construction and social care settings, looking to make a direct impact in the community.

The Disabled Facilities Grant team is a small but busy team providing an extensive and responsive service to clients. We support each other by working closely together to achieve the right results and to deliver a holistic service to clients.

While the main office base is Time Square, Bracknell, this is an agile working role. Home visits and on-site work will be required based on the needs of the role and service delivery.

Key responsibilities...

  • To undertake all required activities in support of the functions of the DFG service, these include requests from residents and referrals from occupational therapists for mandatory and discretionary grants.
  • To provide administrative assistance and support as required, including maintaining all appropriate records, preparing reports, letters, attendance at meetings, minute taking, organising meetings etc.
  • To utilise appropriate IT packages to record, update, collate, analyse and present information and data.
  • To establish, monitor and maintain accurate information and appropriate control systems.
  • To check final accounts and defects liability and advise clients on payment as appropriate.
  • To deal with correspondence and enquiries from clients, contractors, colleagues and/or their representatives.
