We are recruiting for Occupational Therapists for a variety of exciting roles within our new Operating Model which puts the person at the centre and is values led.  You will work either on our Adult Social Care Hub or the Early Interventions and Prevention Service.

We are passionate about promoting independence and wellbeing through new ways of working and forward thinking interventions. We want to reduce dependence, prevent deterioration and delay reliance on traditional services.

Adult Social Care Hub: As an OT in our Adult Social Care Hub you will be working with people right at the start of their journey with Social Care.  The Hub is the first contact for people with physical health issues, learning disabilities or for older adults with health problems.

Early Intervention and Prevention (EIP) Service: You will be working in a large, supportive, multi-disciplinary team.  We are a truly integrated team.  We work hard alongside the people we support to maximise their independence, help them to remain at home for as long as possible with reduced reliance on external support.

Although our Operating Model consists of 3 district teams, we are one service and we work together closely which leads to good relationships and opportunities for learning from each other.   You will gain an invaluable breadth of experience across Adult Social Care and will be supported to develop your knowledge and confidence. Rotational posts across the EIP Service and Hub teams will be considered.

Our offices are in Market Street, Bracknell and we work flexibly from there, from home and around the Borough. You will receive regular supervision and attend MDT meetings and you will hold a varied caseload.

You will be supported to carry out the following duties, responsibilities and training…

  • To work with people to coordinate the identification of their needs and undertake comprehensive assessments of adults with disabilities. To work with those with diverse or complex presentations in a way that maximises independence, choice and control that are Care Act compliant and cost effective.
  • Responsible for own caseload, working collaboratively with those in the People Directorate.
  • To be an autonomous practitioner and accountable for all aspects of your work, including management of individuals in your care and your own supervision and appraisal.
  • To assess for, plan and provide interventions around manual handling, seating and small aids / adaptations.
  • Participate in safeguarding assessments and planning when required.
