We deliver excellent HR support to our schools. Enabling them to provide the best educational outcomes for our children and young people

There has never been a more exciting time to join us here at Bracknell Forest Council. We have just started to implement our 3-year Workforce and Organisational Development Strategy which puts our HR and OD Service front and centre stage of driving positive transformation and the performance of the organisation.

Bracknell Forest Council employs 1,200 staff employed including a further 2,300 schools staff. Our team plays a vital role in providing high quality strategic and operational HR support and advice service to Heads, Governing Bodies and School Business Managers. Something which we are exceptionally proud of.

We recognise the critical roles our schools play in improving outcomes for the children and young people of Bracknell Forest and giving them the best start in their education and we believe that the best start happens in the best schools with the best staff. This is where you come in.

We are looking for an experienced HR Manager who has the drive and leadership skills to lead the team. Someone who can work across organisational boundaries and ensure that we continue to provide high quality HR services to our schools. Contributing to the wider work and Strategy for the HR and OD Service you will be a key member of the service leadership team.

Your experience and credibility will be key to continue the excellent relationships and working arrangements we have with our Schools and will help us drive the wider performance goals of the team in developing great people managers and working towards our ambition to become an employer of choice.

For this role, you should have an excellent understanding of all aspects of HR including resourcing, recruitment, ER and developing HR policies and procedures with some knowledge of the complex role of schools and the school’s workforce in driving the best educational outcomes for all children and young people.
