The Planning Department was a key instigator in achieving the wonderful Town Centre that we see today.

Moving forward the Planning section will continue to help shape future development within the Borough, helping to create a wonderful place to live and work.

The aim of the Planning Department is to provide a diverse mixture of development and open green space across the borough maintaining open communication with all our residents during the planning process.

As a member of the Technical Support Team you would have a pivotal role in shaping the future of our Borough as part of the planning function.

What it's like working in our team...

The Technical Support Team works closely with many other service areas throughout the council along with our Councillors and Parish Councils enabling us to get comments and contributions from all areas of our communities during the planning process.

Key aspects of this role are an eye for detail and an ability to work to tight deadlines to provide a professional service both internally and externally. As part of the team you will be involved in providing ideas and contributing to on-going enhancement of our service. 

We are a positive, interactive team working cohesively to ensure a well organised efficient service is maintained.

You will be supported to carry out the following duties, responisibilities and training...

As part of the Planning Support Team, you will be responsible for a variety of tasks including checking and registering planning applications for new development throughout the Borough, issuing planning decision notices, facilitating the planning committee process and the appeals process.

We also complete tasks for our Land Charges colleagues and Parks and Countryside members of the team.

In house training is provided for all tasks and comprehensive written procedures are available.  Bracknell Forest Council also provide additional training opportunities in a wide range of areas to help enhance your skill set.

What we're looking for...

We are looking for an individual with excellent communication and organisational skills who is willing to work proactively to maintain and improve the services that we provide.

Experience of MS Packages and use of databases is essential, along with your ability to work within a busy office environment and independently from home when required.
